My name is Kirsty Collier. I was born and raised in the North of England. I have a BA (hons) Degree in Education with QTS (qualified teacher status) and 120 hour TEFL (teaching English to foreign learners) qualification.
I have been a secondary school teacher for ten years in England teaching a mixture of subjects including English, Skills, Geography, Travel and Tourism, History, RE, Geology and Maths. For six of these years I was the head of Geography with responsibly for ten staff. I also have experience in business as my husband and I created a paintball site and then sold the company.
Part time, since my teenage years, I have also taught outdoor education such as Rock Climbing, Archery and Bush craft. I have travelled to many countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and America, and therefore I have had the challenge of trying to learn many new languages.
I now live in Crete in Greece and work as an online English teacher. I help my students with speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in English; my mother tongue. I love teaching and speaking to my students. I find every lesson a pleasure and a delight. Every student’s lessons are tailored to their individual needs; this is very interesting and rewarding. I pride myself on my organisation skills, my patience and my friendly nature.
Online I teach students living all over the world. My students vary in age, culture, nationally and ability. My students are learning English for a wide variety of reasons enabling them to reach their own goals.
